About Lua Voice

Lua Voice started with a simple frustration: too many great ideas get lost because writing them down takes too long. Meetings produce hours of discussion but only a few lines of notes. Lectures contain key insights buried in 50 minutes of audio. Brainstorms spark ideas that vanish the moment you stop talking.

We built Lua Voice to solve this. Upload or record your audio, and AI handles the rest. You get accurate transcription with speaker identification, plus organized notes with summaries, key points, and action items. The whole process takes minutes, not hours.

What makes us different

Most transcription tools lock you into expensive subscriptions where you pay a premium on top of the actual AI costs. We offer a Bring Your Own API Keys model. Connect your own AssemblyAI and Anthropic keys, and you pay the AI providers directly at their standard rates. For most users, that means saving 75% to 90% compared to bundled subscriptions.

We also believe your data should stay yours. When you use your own API keys, your audio goes directly to the transcription provider. We never store or process it on our servers.

The Lua Recorder

We are also building a dedicated hardware device called the Lua Recorder. It is a pocket-sized recorder that automatically uploads and processes your audio over Wi-Fi. No phone needed, no apps to open. Press record, and your notes appear in your dashboard. We are preparing a Kickstarter campaign to bring it to life.

Our technology

Lua Voice is built on best-in-class AI. We use AssemblyAI for transcription, which delivers 95%+ accuracy with automatic speaker diarization. For note generation, we use Anthropic's Claude to create structured summaries, action items, and key takeaways. The result is a workflow that takes you from raw audio to organized notes in minutes.
